Welcome to The Lookout, an upstairs coastal retreat with three distinct porch spaces: a wraparound porch, crow’s nest porch, and private screened-in porch off the king suite. Inside, you’ll find a king bedroom with private bath, queen bedroom, pass-through bunk sleeping area, second full bath, full kitchen, living room with sleeper sofa, and in-unit washer and dryer. The entire upstairs is yours during your stay.

Welcome to The Lookout, a spacious upstairs coastal retreat with plenty of room to spread out, relax, and enjoy the beach-town atmosphere. One of the best features of the home is the outdoor space. Guests have access to three separate porch areas, including a wraparound porch, a crow’s nest porch, and a private screened-in porch located just off the king bedroom. Inside, the home includes a full kitchen, comfortable living room with a queen sleeper sofa, two full bathrooms, and an in-unit washer and dryer. The primary bedroom features a king bed, private bathroom, and direct access to the screened-in porch. A second bedroom includes a queen bed. The third sleeping area is a pass-through, hallway-style space with bunk beds. The bunk mattresses are narrower than standard twin mattresses and are best suited for children or smaller guests. With multiple porch spaces, flexible sleeping arrangements, and plenty of room to unwind, The Lookout makes a comfortable home base for beach days, family trips, and relaxed coastal getaways.

Other Details to Note

Guests have exclusive use of the entire upstairs portion of the property during their stay. The downstairs portion of the home is a completely separate space and is not included in this rental. It is currently being finished, and you may occasionally see a single worker completing light tasks downstairs during daytime hours. Major construction activity is not expected.

Please keep noise to a minimum during these times to respect neighbors and the community. • We appreciate you taking care of the property during your stay and kindly ask that you respect all house rules and community guidelines. • Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Seaside residential neighborhood on the northern stretch of Topsail Island. Landmarks and vibe: wide drive-on beaches, dune lines, nearby public beach access points, and calm, small-town coastal atmosphere. Closest towns with more services: Surf City (south, across the bridges) and Jacksonville (inland) for groceries, medical care and military-related services (Camp Lejeune). Seasonal dining and rental businesses are nearby; wildlife viewing (shorebirds, turtles) and water activities (surfing, fishing, boating) are common.

Primary transport: car is most practical; properties typically include on-site parking. Walkability is limited to short distances within the neighborhood and to nearby beach access points; many guests use golf carts or bicycles for short trips. Rideshare/taxi coverage is available but can be spotty—plan pickups in Surf City or Jacksonville during peak season. For errands and dining, driving to Surf City (~10–20 minutes south depending on location) or to Jacksonville (~25–35 minutes inland) is normal.
